This Day in History: 1909-06-09

Alice Ramsey departed from New York City in her dark-green, four-cylinder, 30-horsepower 1909 Maxwell DA, a touring car with two bench seats and a removable pantasote roof. On August 7, 1909, she arrived in San Francisco, after a journey of 59 days and 3,800 miles, completing the first all-female, cross-country road trip.
