Death of the Six Pack. Chrysler releases a Product Planning Letter that said

Cancel the 440/6V Engine (Sales Code E87). Certification efforts to date have been unsuccessful. Probable earliest production is now projected as late March 1971. The low balance of the year volume does not warrant the development of tooling costs yet to be spent. (The engine will not be available in 1973 and beyond.)
